Terms of use.

elsewhere is a design tool: you build rooms in 3D with real, buyable furniture. It’s free to start: the Library is free, and every account gets its first pasted links on us. Pasting more than that takes the pass (below). It’s operated by Elsewhere LLC, a Connecticut company (“we”, “us”).

Every piece links to a real retailer, and prices come from their listings at the time we saw them. When you buy, you buy from the retailer — their price, their stock, their shipping, their returns. We work hard to keep dimensions and prices accurate, but 3D models are generated automatically and listings change; always check the retailer’s page before ordering. Some links earn us an affiliate commission, at no cost to you.

What it is. The pass is $19.99 and lasts 30 days from the day you buy it. It unlocks a set number of pasted links for those 30 days; the number is shown before you pay. Students in a dorm room or heading to college pay $9.99 for the same pass. The Library, your rooms and your shopping lists stay free, pass or no pass.

No automatic renewal. When the 30 days are up, the pass ends. Nothing is charged again unless you buy another one. There is nothing to cancel.

Changed your mind? If you’ve made 5 or fewer rooms, tell us within 7 days of buying and we’ll refund the whole pass, no questions. After that you’ve had the pass, so there’s no refund. One refund per person. Email hi@use-elsewhere.com. If you’re in the UK or EU: the pass starts the moment you buy it, and by buying you ask us to start it straight away, so the 14-day cooling-off right ends when you start using it. Our 7-day refund above is there instead.

Paying. Stripe takes the payment. Your card number goes to Stripe, never to us; we keep only Stripe’s reference, what you bought and the day the pass ends. Sales tax or VAT is added where the law asks for it and shown before you pay. Stripe emails you a receipt.

Prices can change. We may change the price of the pass or what it includes. A change never touches a pass you’ve already bought.

You own the rooms you design. By saving them with us you give us permission to store them, display them back to you, and show them to anyone you share a link with. Delete them (or your account) whenever you like.

Sending a room to Clare (Share → Send to Clare) is different: it lets Clare and elsewhere feature it in videos and shows, on the terms of the show release you agree to when you send it.

The software, the 3D editor, the scanner, the browser extension, the 3D models we make, the catalog, the design and the brand belong to Elsewhere LLC. We give you a personal, revocable licence to use them through elsewhere, for designing your own rooms and shopping for them. The furniture itself belongs to its makers: a model in elsewhere is there to help you find and buy the real piece.

So, please don’t: copy, modify or redistribute our code or models; take our software apart (reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where the law says you may); download our models or catalog outside the editor; use elsewhere, its models or anything it makes to train or build an AI model; or use any of it to build a competing product.

“elsewhere”, our logo and the names of our features are trademarks of Elsewhere LLC. Ideas and feedback you send us are welcome, and we may use them freely, without owing you anything for them.

Don’t abuse the service: no scraping our catalog wholesale, no hammering the import pipeline with scripts, no using elsewhere for anything illegal, and no importing images you don’t have the right to use. We have rate limits, and we’ll block accounts or traffic that break them deliberately.

If you break these terms and someone makes a claim against us because of it (say, over an image you had no right to bring in), you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

We respect other people’s work. If you think something in elsewhere infringes yours, our copyright page explains how to tell us, and how we handle it. We close the accounts of people who infringe repeatedly.

elsewhere is young and provided as is. We aim for it to be reliable and delightful, but we can’t promise it will always be available, bug-free, or unchanged — features may evolve while we build. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to what you paid us for the pass in the 12 months before the problem (nothing, if you haven’t bought one). Nothing here limits liability where the law says it can’t be limited.

These terms are governed by Connecticut law. If we change them meaningfully, we’ll update the date below. If any part turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. Questions or problems? Email hi@use-elsewhere.com — a person reads it.
