The straight answer

Privacy, in plain English.

The short version: we collect your email if you give it to us, the rooms you choose to save, and enough diagnostics to keep the product working. We sell furniture recommendations, not your data.

What we collect

Your email, if you join the waitlist or create an account. That’s the only personal detail we ask for.

Your rooms and finds. Rooms you design are saved in your own browser. If you create an account, they also sync to our database so they follow you across devices. They’re yours — we don’t browse them, publish them, or share them.

Product links you paste. When you import a piece of furniture, we fetch the product page and its photos to build the 3D model. The photo is processed by our 3D-generation provider (fal.ai) for that purpose only.

Crash reports. If the editor hits an error, it sends us the error message, the page it happened on, and your browser type — no personal data — so we can fix it.

Basic analytics. We use Vercel Analytics to count visits, pages, countries and device types, and simple product events (like “a room was saved”) so we know what’s working. No advertising trackers, no cross-site profiles.

Shopping links

Every piece in elsewhere links to a real retailer. Some of those links are affiliate links: if you buy something, the retailer may pay us a small commission through our affiliate partner (Skimlinks), at no extra cost to you. Clicking one may set a cookie from that partner so the retailer knows the visit came from us. That’s how a free product pays its bills — prices are never higher because of it.

Email

If you joined the waitlist, we’ll email you exactly once — at launch. If you have an account, we’ll only email you things you opted into (like the weekly Room Report, if you asked for it). Every email has a working unsubscribe. No spam, ever, as promised.

What we never do

We don’t sell your data. We don’t run ads. We don’t share your email with anyone except the services that run elsewhere (our database and email providers), which are bound to use it only for us.

Your data, your call

Want your email off the waitlist, your account gone, or everything we hold about you deleted? Email hello@use-elsewhere.com and it’s done within 30 days, usually much faster.

The fine print

elsewhere is operated by Elsewhere LLC, a Connecticut company. If this policy changes in a way that matters, we’ll say so on this page with a new date below. Questions? Same email as above — a person reads it.
